Engr Emeka Maduabuchi is a Process & Technical Safety Risk Management Professional with over 30 years of Oil & Gas Operations & Projects experience both Offshore and Onshore, within and outside Nigeria (Holland, UK, US, Brunei Darussalam South East Asia). Currently, he is the CEO / Principal Consultant of Engineering, Safety & Loss Prevention Consultants Limited (ESLP Consultants Ltd). Emeka Maduabuchi holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and a Master’s Degree in Process Safety & Loss Prevention from University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He started his career as a Power Systems Protection Engineer in then (then) NEPA, later joined Shell as an Electrical Engineer. While with Shell, Emeka has held various roles within Nigeria and outside Nigeria, ranging from Discipline Electrical Engineering, Process & Concept Engineering, Operations Support, Cost Engineering, Projects before broadening into Process Safety. He retired (early) as the Process Safety Manager for Shell Companies in Nigeria in December 2019. Emeka is a certified HAZOP and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) facilitator, an experienced and certified Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) practitioner. As Technical Authority for Process Safety, he has delivered several technical papers in Asset Integrity, Process Safety and Loss Prevention management in local and international conferences, workshops, seminars, etc. On professional bodies, he is a registered member of the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a registered member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a Felow Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), a Felow of Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (NISafetyE) and a member of United Kingdom Energy Institute (EI). Emeka is now the CEO & Principal Consultant of Engineering Safety & Loss Prevention (ESLP) Consultants Limited, a firm he set up in February 2020 to seamlessly support organisations in managing their engineering and safety risks. In his drive to give back to the society, Emeka’s ESLP Consultants Limited, in partnership with the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (NiSafetyE) Rivers Branch in 2021, set up a Process Safety Academy with the sole objective of helping young Safety Engineers to ramp up their skills and competences in the Area of Oil & Gas Process Safety Engineering Emeka is married to only one wife and has 4 lovely children (teenagers). He is a member of the The Order of The Knights of Saint Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria and the Worthy Grand Knight of Divine Mercy Subcouncil in Port-Harcourt. He is currently the National President General of Ekwulobia Town Union (Ekwulobia Peoples Assembly) in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, in keeping with his interest in sustainable community development
