The NISafetyE Calls for Climate-Smart Safety Engineering on World Environment Day 2026.

The Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers (NISafetyE) joins the global community in marking World Environment Day 2026, themed Climate Action.

This year’s observance highlights the urgent need to confront climate change and its growing impact on lives, infrastructure, and industries.

The NISafetyE urges Engineers, policy makers and the general public to:

- Conduct climate risk assessment, audits and document solution/mitigation action plans.
- Support safer renewable energy adoption.
- Practice household and workplace safety during extreme weather.
- Champion policies that prioritize both sustainability and safety.

It is ciritcal we remember that World Environment Day 2026 reminds us of the interconnectedness of Climate Action and Safety Engineering.
